Rosemount Irish State Championship in Girls Basketball is being celebrating after the Irish girls basketball team captured the 2026 Class 4A state championship with a thrilling 63-62 win over Hopkins Royals on Saturday, March 14, at Williams Arena.
It was a championship performance built on grit, composure, and a huge late-game push. Rosemount trailed 60-53 with five minutes left before closing the game on a 10-2 run to secure the program’s first girls basketball state title.

Rosemount outscored Hopkins 38-34 in the paint and hit two massive late three-pointers from Kaylee Dilger and Gianna Carpentier to take the lead in the final minutes. On the defensive end, the Irish held Hopkins to 3-for-18 from three-point range.
With just seconds left, Isla Silk came up with a huge defensive play, contesting the final Hopkins shot to help seal the one-point victory.
